Bret "The Hitman" Hart

The man is probablly one of the greatest if not the greatest wrestler of all time. He has pretty much done it all in the WWF. He was first introduced alongside his brother-in-law Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart to make up the team of "The Hart Foundation". The team started off as heels and won WWF Tag Team Gold. They later turned face and would beat Demolition in a 2 out of 3 falls match at SummerSlam 1990. They would hold the titles until WM 7,when they dropped the straps to the Nasty Boys. Bret would go solo and pursuit what could be the most succesful singles career. He won the WWF Intercontinental title at SummerSlam 1991 from Mr.Perfect. He would lose the title to "The Mountie". He was scheduled for a rematch at Royal Rumble 92,but he was ill and couldn't compete. Roddy Piper who took his place for the match was going to be facing the hitman at WM 8. This match proved to be a classic as Bret came out succesful in the match. He would lose the belt in what proved to be another classic against "The British Bulldog" in a packed house in Wimbledon Stadium. Bret would have a title shot against Ric Flair i at a house show in which The Hitman proved that he is what he says"The best there is,best there was, best there ever will be". He would hold the title until WM 9 when he lost the title to Yokozuna. Bret would win the first annual King of the Ring tournament only to be beatin up by Jerry "The King"Lawler. This setup a feud which would last most of 1993. At the 1994 Royal Rumble he was a co-winner along with Lex Luger when they dumped each other over the top rope at the same time. This would lead both men into WM 10 as both had title matches. The odds were stacked against Bret as he also had another match against his brother Owen. Owen would win the match using his intellegence in which many called an "upset". Yokozuna had retained the title from Lex Luger thanks to the help of Mr.Perfect. The main event would turn out to be Bret Vs.Yokozuna in which Bret once again recaptured the WWF title. He would have some great matches with his brother Owen, especially the match at SummerSlam 1994 when he battled Owen in a Steel Cage,in which Bret won. Then at the 1994 Survivor Series he had to face Bob Backlund. During the match Backlund applied the crossface chicken wing. Bret was not tapping out,but Owen had appeared by ringside and threw in the towel for his brother. Bret loss the belt and would get a title shot at the Royal Rumble 1995 but was unsuccesful,do to outside interference. He would end his feud with Bob Backlund and make him submit to his own move at WM 11. He would then renew his feud with Jerry Lawler and have a "Kiss my foot" match at King of the Ring 1995,in which Bret won and made Jerry kiss his own foot. Lawler would bring in his "evil dentist" Issac Yankem D.D.S. aka Kane. Bret would win a match betwenn himself and Issac by DQ. Then for some reason the WWF put him in a feud with Jean-Pierre Lafieete. The feud was over The Hitman's jacket which Pierre had stolen. Bret won the feud and started setting his eyes back on WWF Gold. He challengend Diesel to a matchup at the 95 Survivor Series,in which Bret outsmarted Diesel and rolled him up in a small package. He (Bret) would get beat up after the match. Then in December he had a match with his bro-in-law The British Bulldog. The "record book" showed that Bret had never beaten Davey Boy and the odds were stacked on The Hitman. In probablly the Hitman's bloodiest match he overcame the odd's and remained champ. He would hold the belt up into what everyone say's is "The best match in WM history" along with Ricky and Savage. The "Iron Man" match was incredible as Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart showed the world what they were made of, it also proved to be a controversial match. There was a time limit draw in the 60 minute match and Bret thought he would remain champ. Then he was called back to the ring and was told there must be a winner. Shawn capatalized and won the match. Bret however stormed out of the arena and would not return to the WWF until late 1996. He began a feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret won his first match back. The feud would go on and during the way in Febuary of 97 Bret won the WWF title but lost it the next day. Bret would turn heel after WM 13,in which "American fans turned there back on him". He became the anti-american Bret Hart. He would make up a newly reformed "Hart Foundation" with brother Owen, and his brothers-in-law The British Bulldog and Jim NeidHart and also Brian Pillman. They would feud with Stone Cold,Vader,Shawn Michaels, and The Patriot. Then at SummerSlam 1997 Bret got a title match with The Undertaker with special guest Referee Shawn Michaels. Bret won the match when Shawn, who was aiming for Bret, hit The Undetaker with a steel chair and cost The Undertaker the match and title. He would keep the title until the unforgettable day in WWF history. "The Screwjob"! During the match Shawn had applied the sharpshooter on Bret and without tapping out Vince McMahon called for the bell and awarded the match and title to Shawn Michaels. Everyone was confused as to what was going on but it was clear that Vinnie Mac had screwed Bret out of the WWF. Bret who will probablly whoop Vince McMahon's ass if he ever caught him, left to WCW. He became a member of the NWO with Hogan and he held the WCW U.S. title 4 times, was a 2 time WCW champion, and a tag team champ. During a match with Bill Goldberg,Bret suffered a career-ending kick to the head. If it wasn't for this I am sure he would still be active in the Wrestling scene. He has negative thoughts to Goldberg (who could blame him) and expresses anger toward him. Bret is now retired and still does make appearances at events. Bret was surely what he said he is "The best there is,best there was, best there ever will be"
